Questions
Straight answers, before you write.
The questions founders, intermediaries and co-investors ask us most often — answered plainly and without jargon.
How we invest
Indefinite by default. We use permanent capital, so there is no fund clock forcing an exit. A business moves on only when that is clearly the right outcome for it.
Yes, where governance is aligned and we can contribute meaningfully at board level alongside committed operators. We are equally comfortable with full ownership.
Established small and mid-market operators with recurring revenue and durable regulation, rather than early-stage ventures.
Sparingly. Regulated businesses carry capital and conduct obligations, and we prefer balance sheets that stay comfortable through a cycle.
Scope and sectors
Our focus is regulated businesses with a Maltese nexus. We look selectively at adjacent opportunities where our licensing and governance experience compounds.
Financial and corporate services, trustee and fiduciary, insurance broking, retirement and pensions, plus carefully chosen adjacent growth.
Occasionally, but the bar is deliberately higher. Adjacency is a reason to look, not a reason to invest.
Process
A short note is enough. We reply directly, meet informally, and only move to structured evaluation if both sides see a fit.
Weeks rather than days for the initial view; longer where licensing or regulatory approval is involved. We keep the pace honest rather than artificial.
Regularly. We are straightforward on process and give a clear answer early rather than leaving a mandate open indefinitely.
Always. We do not disclose counterparties, figures or the existence of discussions, and we expect the same in return.
